Carney's
is one of the coolest places to eat in southern
California. You get to hop on board an old
fashioned passenger car. The Studio City location
has a passenger car and a caboose while the
West Hollywood location has just a passenger
car. The prices are great and the food is
awesome. I would recommend everyone to try
it. "The Big Yellow Train" as it
is called is best known for its chili burgers
and hot dogs. They offer regular sized hamburgers,
double cheeseburgers and half-pound cheeseburgers.
There are four types of hot dogs: the Original
Carney's (chili, mustard, tomato and onion),
the New Yorker, The Chicagoan and the Red
Baron.
I
had the pleasure, along with my husband and
son, to tour the magnificent Queen Mary. The
ship was built in four years and was riveted
by hand. It was considered the grandest ocean
liner ever built. From 1936 to 1967, it had
crossed the Atlantic 1,001 times and transported
passengers and mail. At the time, the ship
could hold 2,000 passengers with 1,200 crew.
Its maiden voyage was May 27, 1936 and took
a mere four days to go from Southampton to
New York. The ship had a top speed of 30 knots
or 35 mph. and was considered the fastest
ship that crossed the Atlantic.
I
was very impressed on my first visit to Disneyland
and Disney's California Adventure on Monday.
It was a beautiful sunny day about 75 degrees.
My husband and son accompanied me to the theme
parks in Orange County. As we entered the
Disneyland park, there was Main Street USA.
On the right was Disneyland's story presenting
Great Moments with Abraham Lincoln. It started
with his life story from birth to his Presidency.
What a patriotic display of America's greatest
President. Walking down Main Street were shops,
restaurants and a Cinema playing Steamboat
Willie.

Education
has been stuck in the industrial age for decades,
but that model no longer prepares students for
success in postsecondary education and beyond.
Business success largely depends on a work force
that can solve problems, think critically and
collaborate – 21st century skills rarely
taught in today’s classrooms. This fireside
chat will look at ways business and education
can work together to prepare learners to thrive
in an increasingly competitive global economic
environment and highlight solutions that make
sense.
