| 108th
and 109th Detroit Dog Shows
AmericaJR.com
has teamed up with the Detroit Kennel Club to
give you the chance to win a pair of tickets to
either the 108th or 109th Detroit Dog Show at
Cobo Center in downtown Detroit. It is one of
only five benched shows left in the U.S.
When
dogs are not being judged, they are required by
the rules of the show to be on their assigned
benches, allowing visitors access to breeders,
owners, handlers and dogs from the 167 breeds
and varieties recognized by the American Kennel
Club. Dogs are benched from 9AM to 5PM on Saturday
and Sunday from 9AM to 4PM. The best time to visit
is between 9AM and 4PM. Specific breed judging
times and benching areas will be found in the
Judging Program approximately one week before
the show.
The
two-day celebration of dogs brings more than 2,000
dogs from the 167 breeds and varieties recognized
by the American Kennel Club. Show highlights include
new demonstrations, obedience and conformation
competition, rare breed exhibits and high flying
four-legged competitions. New this year, the DKC
welcomes pure bred rescue and the Rock-N-Roll
K9 Performance Team.
Tickets
are $15 for adults and $8 for children (ages 3-12)
and seniors (65 and over). Family packs (2 adults,
3 children) are also on sale for $40. Discount
tickets are available exclusively at all Michigan
Kroger locations. Tickets will be sold separately
for each show and are good only for that day’s
show. Dogs will be on display to the public and
demonstrations will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Best in Show will go into the ring approximately
6 p.m. each day.
