Raul
Malo with Seth Walker
AmericaJR.com
has teamed up with The Ark in downtown Ann Arbor
to give you the chance to win a pair of tickets
to see Raul Malo and Seth Walker. Doors open at
7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
A
rare solo show! (Country/Rockabilly, World Music,
Americana/Alt-Country)
Get
ready for an intimate solo show by the great Raul
Malo! For Raul, the country band Mavericks was
just a beginning of an American musical journey.
He has sung in English and Spanish, and he's at
home with rock, country, Cuban music, and the
big-band jazz that fits his romantic vocals so
beautifully. He's sung Latin rock, acoustic Americana,
and even children's music. And his voice has only
improved with age. It's a stunning instrument
that has the rare quality of being big and intimate
at the same time.
Raul
comes to town with a new album, "Sinners
and Saints," that adds Texas Latin sounds
to his Miami roots, offers a political thought
or three, and features a killer version of Rodney
Crowell's "Till I Gain Control Again"—No
Depression calls the album a masterpiece. Tonight's
opener is Austinite Seth Walker, who plays blues
with a great New Orleans groove.
Tickets
are $40 each and can be purchased online
or in person at The Ark Box Office. The box office
opens at 7:30 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 7:00
p.m. on Sunday to sell general admission tickets
for the night's show. Tickets can be purchased
by phone by calling the Michigan Union Ticket
Office at (734) 763-TKTS (8587).
The
Ark is located at 316 S. Main Street in the heart
of downtown Ann Arbor.
One
