Me and my husband had the opportunity to visit Bahama Breeze Restaurant to taste test the new summer menu and drinks. We got to choose from the appetizers and small plates menu. First, I started off with the Painkiller drink, which was very strong. My husband had the Batida de Coco drink. Both were coconut drinks. Then, I had the Chicken Empades, which are handmade pastries filled with braised chicken, mushrooms and onion. My husband had the Mojo-marinated pulled pork, which was served over sweet plantains with sweet and smoky BBQ sauce. Then, we had the Conch Fritters, which is the original Key West recipe along with the Summer Vegetables stuffed tomatoes, which are sweet campari tomatoes filled with fresh corn jicama and garbanzo beans with white balsamic and basil pesto. Then, my husband had the Barbados Rum Punch while I had the Goombay Smash drink. The punch was a fruity drink with passion fruit juice, fresh lime juice with grenadine while the Goombay Smash had spiced rum along with dark rum with orange and pineapple juice. The Conch Fritters were so good, we ordered them again. We both loved them. Also we tried the sweet Peruvian corn cakes served with butter and roasted pineapple salsa. All in all, we had the most wonderful time and our server catered to our every need. If I had to choose a favorite.....well there were so many favorites. But if I had to choose the top three, they would be the Conch Fritters, Summer Vegetables stuffed tomatoes and the chicken empades. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and give the new summer menu and drinks a try. OVERALL RATING: A For more information, visit www.bahamabreeze.com. To view a copy of the menu, click here.
