* For The Kids... * Flagstar Kids Talent Quest Calling all kids between the ages of 4 and 13...Is your dream to be a pop star? Flagstar Bank and Metro Parent Magazine have teamed up to give you the chance to do just that. The top two performers will both win a $500 savings bond and be featured on WDIV Local 4 News, WNIC Radio and in the October edition of the Metro Parent Magazine. Rules: Children from age 4 to 8 will have 90 seconds to perform their talent. Kids between the ages of 9 and 13 will receive 3 minutes for their talent. You may bring CD's or cassettes if you need them. It will be judged by Major Management Productions. Grand prize winners will be announced on September 5th! M-Care Sportapalooza For the first time ever, M-Care is sponsoring this sports challenge at Arts, Beats & Eats. All kids between the ages of 5 and 13 can compete in friendly, athletic trials against kids their age. There will be five different events. In the "Wonderful Warm-Up," kids will be able to run, stretch and jog to loosen up their muscles. They will also be about to meet their opponents. The four events are 1) a basketball toss, 2) a golf putting challenge, 3) a football toss and 4) a soccer shootout. For participating, children will win M-Care t-shirts and other prizes. The M-Care Sportapalooza will be located within the Free Press Village. There will also be Children's stages, craft painting, a kiddie-carnival plus much more...
Macy's Kids' Stage The Macy's Kids' Stage will be located at the rear of the Free Press Village. Youngsters will be able to meet "Yak" from the Detroit Free Press. There will be numerous other events here including a magic show, juggling, illusionist, animal balloon workshop, music, plus a multi-cultural show.
Metro Parent Arts & Crafts Area If you have kids, you will definitely want to bring them here. We all know that kids enjoy to build things with their hands. Here, kids will be able to make their own scented candles, tie dye t-shirts, pixie sticks, bracelets, sun visors and much more.
