Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats
OAKLAND COUNTY'S SUMMER FESTIVAL

* Fun Activities For The Kids *

Blue Cross Blue Shield Sportapalooza

Blue Cross Blue Shield, a managed health care leader in Southeastern Michigan, sponsors Blue Cross Blue Shield Sportapalooza at the 2007 Chrysler, Arts, Beats & Eats festival in Pontiac, August 31-September 3. Back again at this year’s festival, the sports challenge offers children ages 5-13 the opportunity to compete in friendly, age-appropriate athletic trials against their peers in some of their favorite sports.

Young athletes are challenged by five independent events, beginning with the “Wonderful Warm-up.” During this initial warm-up phase, children have the opportunity to run, stretch and do light jogging to loosen muscles and prepare to meet their opponents in four rounds of sports competition. Participants then move on to compete in a basketball toss, “havoc hockey”, a “frenzied” flag football competition and a soccer shootout. Children who qualify in each respective sports category will be eligible for t-shirts and other prizes.

Events will be coordinated under the supervision of the Detroit Sports Club, Michigan’s fastest growing recreational sports organization.

The event will take place in the center of the family-friendly Free Press Village, and be surrounded by Children’s stages, Craft Areas, our Kiddie-Carnival, and much more.
