2009 Arts, Beats & Eats Festival of Hope
OAKLAND COUNTY'S SUMMER FESTIVAL

* 2009 Activites For The Kids... *

 

This line up includes fun, interactive entertainment on US Park Kids Stage, Metro Parent Arts & Crafts activities, meet and greets with PBS Kids Characters Arthur and SuperWHY, the Oakland County Summer Arts Project, A Carnival, Pony Rides, A Petting Zoo, Moonwalks and More! New this year, Metro Parent Magazine, along with assistance from JARC and Beaumont Children's Hospital & HOPE Center, will be presenting the "Children of All Abilities" Craft Area. Children of all abilities will be assisted with craft projects in a fun, easy, and relaxed environment.

Kids Blast Game Show: New! Just like game shows on Nickelodeon and
Disney Channel, the Kids Blast Game Show is full of interactive (and sometimes
messy!) games and challenges. Bring your camera there are lots of photo
opportunities in this show!


Harpbeat: A Returning Favorite! Award-winning childrens musician, Donna
Novak, takes audiences on a musical journey as she plays Motown, R&B, Rock and Roll, and Oldies music on a Harp. Families are encouraged to get involved and lend a hand making the music.
(Shows include - Kids Music Concert, Harpbeat of America & Around the World in a Harpbeat)


Vikki Gasko Ventriloquist: A Returning Favorite! Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko and
her colorful cast of characters will have every member of the family laughing and
involved. Vikkis shows include The Dog Gone Mystery Show, Science of
Critterography, Reading Pirates and the Hola, Spanish Fiesta Show.


Rosco The Clown: A Returning Favorite! Michigan's Favorite Clown will tickle
your funny bone with jokes, audience participation, and lots of giggle-inducing fun.


Wizard School: New! Learn amazing magic tricks to amaze your friends.
These interactive workshops introduce kids to the principals and science behind
magic and illusions. The best part is that everyone gets to take a magic trick home
with you at the end of the program.


Checkers Magic Show/Checkers the Clown: New! Magic, Comedy, and a
real LIVE RABBIT. Dont blink or you will miss some of the most amazing magic you have ever seen.
Chris Linn: Cool Tricks and Funny Stuff: A Returning Favorite! Be amazed
and amused with a high energy show filled with comedy and magic by nationally
acclaimed entertainer, Chris Linn.


Eugene Clark: Saving the Planet one child at a time is what the Think
Green: A Healthy Planet show is all about. Eugene Clark, along with
"Ted Ant", teach families important lessons about the "four R's" of
thinking green - Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, and Restore. Each section is
designed to equally inspire, educate, and entertain!


Balloon Zoo Workshop: A Returning Favorite! A fun and interactive
performance with lots of comedy, where EVERYONE learns how to make a creative
balloon animal sculpture. At the end of the performance, every audience member
gets to take their balloon home with them as a colorful souvenir of the festival.
Illusionist Randy Lee: New! Randy has been an entertainment staple in
metro Detroit for over 30 years. You wont believe your eyes.


Eugene Clark: Using magic, funny situations, magical entertainer
Eugene takes families on an amazing journey through the wonders of
Michigan's rich heritage. With the help of volunteers and Eugene's
colorful visual aide props, the kids will discover Michigan's history
from the early settlers to modern day cities, as well as learn about the
state rock, animal and flower.

Arts, Beats & Eats celebrates its twelfth year this Labor Day Weekend with new events, activities and surprises for our unique festival of art, music, food and family fun. We are especially proud that our Health Plus Art Fair is ranked 7th in the United States by Art Fair Source Book. The music line-up will be stellar, and we are looking forward to great performances, especially on the Michigan Lottery Stage.
