This is a movie about
Lightning McQueen, a rookie race car, wanting to win
his first Piston Cup. In one race, there is a 3 way tie, so all
three
have to go to Los Angeles Motor Speedway to decide who wins the
Cup. As
the car is lifted on to a Mack truck to be shipped to L.A., the
Mack
driver falls asleep, runs over a bump, and the door opens and Lightning
McQueen slips off the truck and lands on the highway.
As the cars going in
the other direction are about to hit him, he pulls
off the road and lands in a sleepy old town off Route 66 named Radiator
Springs. He speeds into town and, as a result gets a ticket. He
goes to
court and the judge assigns him community service of fixing the
main road
into town. There he meets Mater, the towing truck, Sally the lawyer,
Doc
Hudson, a 1951 Hudson Hornet-with a hidden past.
He stays in Radiator
Springs for a few days, fixing the road and gets to
know the town that once was booming with people until the main highway
was
built. He hears on the news that in California they are looking
for him.
With helicopters from above, they finally find him and Mack truck
gets him
back on the truck enroute to California.
The race is on. Lo &
behold, he finds all his buddies from town there in
California as his pit crew. They help him realize there is more
to life
than winning and trophies. He goes back to town and helps them build
it
up to the town it once was. It becomes a thriving town again.
The animation is terrific and the storyline keeps you interested.
I would
definitely recommend this movie.
