Cassel's Family Restaurant
On Friday night,
I went to Cassel's Restaurant located on 43003 Seven Mile
Rd. west of Haggerty Rd. in Northville. I was surprised to
see such a lovely family restaurant in the middle of a strip
mall since I never drive in that direction.
The restaurant
was clean and looked newly remodeled. They told me they
moved their location from the end of the strip mall to the
middle.
I ordered the pan
fried lake perch. It was hand-dredged perch filets pan
sauteed until golden brown. The breading was light and not
thick. It was
served with choice of potato or rice with their house blend
fresh
vegetables. The fish was succulent and melted in your mouth.
It was
fabulous. They serve it on a huge plate, so there is plenty
to take home.
My husband ordered
the Coconut Island Shrimp. It was jumbo-sized shrimp hand-rolled
in coconut coating then lightly fried until crispy. It was
also served with the above-mentioned sides.
On the menu, they
have a variety of items to choose from. They have a sandwich
board full of many choices of sandwiches from the classic
club sandwich, grilled deli reuben sandwich to the English
Pub fish sandwich.
They also have
eight choices of salads, 10 choices of burgers including the
garden veggie burger and chipotle turkey burger.
The dinner entrees
come from the land and sea, chicken and also vegetarian
specialties. The homemade soups are fabulous too.
The price range
for this wonderful family restaurant is very reasonable.
The dinner entrees are all under $10.00, and their sandwiches
range from
$5.99 to $8.99 which also includes gourmet french fries or
a cup of soup.
Service by their
staff was wonderful. We never had to wait long for
anything and she checked back with us frequently.
I would definitely
return to this restaurant and recommend
it to everyone.
The food was superb and went way beyond my expectations.
