Centaur Bar is located at 2233 Park Ave. in the Lodent Building behind the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. The decor is quite impressive. It is very modern inside with two floors upstairs. There are couches everywhere with little snack/drink tables. There is a huge flat-screen tv on the wall for sports. Modern lighting and black granite bar counter also adds to the ambience. The menu includes a wide variety of small plates items from shrimp cocktail to beef wellington to mini crab cakes to ribs and scallops. The prices range from $7 - $11. The Moroccan lamb chops are the most expensive at $11. The bar specializes in martinis. There are 30 different flavored martinis to choose from. The martini menu changes seasonally. The cost is $9 each or $5 during happy hour. The staff is very friendly and efficient. For your entertainment, there is also a pool table on premises. This is a good place to stop after the Tigers or Lions game or even a performance at the Fox Theatre. As it was my first time here, I enjoyed my visit.
