"The Chronicles of Narnia"
Genre:
Science Fiction and Fantasy
This science
fiction fantasy is filled with fun and action, along with excitement
and imagination. I do not believe I have ever seen such an inspiring
film as this one is. It is based off the famous novel written by
C.S. Lewis.
Lucy, Edmund,
Peter, and Susan are siblings who fled from WWII and are taken to
a college professor. Edmund is rebellious and has a difficult time
being away from his home and parents, and causes trouble.
One day,
the four decide to play hide-n-seek, when Lucy discovers an empty
room to hide in. When she walks in she notices a sheet or cover
over a closet. She removes the cover and opens the closet. Lucy
notices a light on in it and enters the wardrobe to see where the
light is coming from. As she walks in, she realizes that there is
no end to the closet. Finally, what started out as a wardrobe, soon
turned into a whole new world of snow called Narnia.
After exploring
this new world and visiting her new friend, Mr. Tumnus, she returns
back to the college. When she gets out of the wardrobe, she believes
that it had been hours since she had been gone and goes off to find
her older siblings to let them know that she was all right.
When no
one can understand what Lucy had told them, Susan, Peter, and Edmund
decide she was just off make-believing. Then one night, Edmund follows
Lucy to the wardrobe and he himself discovers Narnia. Lucy is unaware
of him following and continues to go on to visit Mr. Tumnus. Edmund
goes wondering off and meets up with the White Witch. He is unaware
of her name, only that she introduced herself as the Queen of Narnia.
As the story
continues, the four are playing and break a window and hides in
the wardrobe. That is when all four enter the world of Narnia. Later
on they discover that Edmund runs off to the White Witch and they
must go and save him. As the journey to find Edmund continues, Lucy,
Susan, and Peter meet the King of Narnia known as Aslan. They discover
that not only must they save Edmund, but they must also save Narnia
from the White Witch.
This movie
stars Tilda Swinton as the White Witch, James MaAvoy, as Mr. Tumnus,
Georgie Henley as Lucy, Skandar Keynes as Edmund, William Moseley
as Peter, Anna Popplewell as Susan and Liam Neeson as the voice
of Aslan. This movie is definitely worth watching.
