'Dinosaur Zoo Live' is entertaining and educational at the Fisher Theatre
"Dinosaur Zoo Live" is now playing at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit from March 12 - 16, 2014.
DETROIT -- I was curious to see what kind of performance would be put on for Erth's "Dinosaur Zoo--Live on Stage." The only thing I knew was there would be a lot of children in the audience. The show was created in Australia and is here at the Fisher Theatre for ten performances only from March 12-16, 2014.
It is a unique theatre production, which takes the audience on a prehistoric journey to meet insects, mammals and dinosaurs that once roamed the planet millions of years ago.
The journey begins with Aimee, as the Paleontologist host, coming on stage and narrating and identifying the life of dinosaurs beginning with the baby dinosaurs all the way to the largest on the planet. The production was an interactive display where children had a chance to come on stage and pet the dinosaurs. Aimee told us dinosaurs evolved 250 million years ago and asked questions of the audience on their history.
The dinosaurs incorporated puppetry, movement, acting, aerial and stilts and they looked so real. The comical part was that some children volunteered to come on stage, but when they saw or heard the dinosaur roar, they would run off the stage.
Erth's "Dinosaur Zoo Live" is both entertaining and educational. The life-like dinosaur recreations connect children to paleontology in a fun and informative setting.
At the end of the performance, the baby dinosaurs were on hand in the lobby of the Fisher Theatre for children to check them out up close and personal.
