of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone in "Escape
Plan" - 2013
plays Ray Breslin, a seasoned escape artist, who works for the
government going undercover in prisons to test their security
by breaking out of them. They say he is the only guy who wants
to go to prison.
The movie begins at
Bendwater Federal Prison in Colorado. He is incarcerated there
and follows the protocol of figuring their weaknesses, surveys
the layout, watches their routine and organizes a jail break from
solitary confinement with the help of his team on the outside:
Abigail (Amy Ryan) and Hush (50 Cent).
After he is free, he
purposely is seen on the outside with his prison uniform on and
then its "showtime."
Later, his partner,
Lester Clark (Vincent D'Onofrio) organizes a meeting with CIA
agent Jessica Miller (Caitriona Balfe) who offers him five million
dollars if he takes on a job at a top-secret prison.
Ray agrees and is undercover
as a Spanish terrorist named Portos. While at a secret location,
he figures out that the mission is bogus and is imprisoned for
real under the watchful eye of warden Hobbes (Jim Caviezel). He
is the devil and makes his life miserable.
While he is there,
Stallone meets Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and they
first try to figure out their location and then who framed him.
Then his daring plan takes shape. Lots of action ensues.
The movie ran 116 minutes
and is directed by the Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom. It is
rated R for violence and language throughout. Scenes for this
film were shot in Slidell, La., New Orleans and in Los Angeles.
Stallone and Schwarzenegger
make a great team and they have excellent chemistry during the
film. There is plenty of action, intense violence and the ending
is great. I would recommend this movie if you like action thrillers.
