"Flight"
stars Denzel Washington, who plays Whip Whitaker, as the pilot
of a plane who has a drinking problem. He was up all night the
night before and did cocaine and drank. Even on the plane, when
the turbulance had just started, he was pouring vodka in his orange
juice.
In a rainstorm, Whip
arrives a the airport and takes the helm of the aircraft. About
20 minutes into the flight, the plane hits severe turbulance and
he reacts on his instincts when the rear elevator flap gets stuck
and the two engines have overheated and is on fire. But the seasoned
airline pilot miraculously crash lands the plane in a field, saving
96 percent of the passengers.
After the crash, Whip
becomes a hero in everyone's eyes but there is a small problem.
After the NTSB investigates the wreckage and questions the crew,
there are more questions than answers regarding the crash.
Also starring in the
movie are Bruce Greenwood, Brian Geraghty, Don Cheadle, Kelly
Reilly and Tamara Tunie. Scenes were shot entirely within the
cities of Atlanta and Covington, Ga. It was released by Paramount
Pictures.
Directed by Robert
Zemeckis, "Flight" is action packed and has a great
storyline. Denzel Washington did a great job acting and the ending
may surprise you. The movie lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes.
