Clint Eastwood directs
and stars in this movie. He plays Walt Kowalski who is a mean,
bigoted, old Korean War veteran who lives in Highland Park with
a mint-condition 1972 Gran Torino in his garage.
Walt is a retired autoworker
and widow who spends his time at home mowing his lawn and tinkering
around the house. Foreign immigrants move in next door with a
teenage son, Thao, (Bee Vang) who is shy and barely speaks to
anyone. There is a gang who wants to recruit him. As an initiation,
they boy tries to steal the Gran Torino.
He gets caught by Walt
and explains it was just a stunt. As days go by, Walt realizes
he's a nice kid and they become best of friends. Walt hires him
to do chores around his house.
When the boy gets hassled
by the gang on a streetcorner, "Dirty Harry" comes into
play and saves him. Kowalski searchs the infested neighborhoods
trying to locate the gangmembers to get revenge.
The film is 116 minutes
long and includes some violence.
I would recommend this
movie since #1 its filmed in Michigan and its a good story.
