Matthew West "History"
This
is the first time that I've ever listened to a christian album.
Not only is he a singer, but he's also a songwriter who's written
songs for many top artists in the Christian genre and country's
Rascal Flatts.
The album's
title track "History" is a great song. It encourages you
to forget the past and live for now. You are creating your own history.
Some of the lyrics:Yesterday is history. And history is miles
away. So, leave it all behind you.
Track number
two is called "Next Thing You Know." This song is very
uplifting as he describe a mental picture of what heaven looks like.
It's about him entering freshman year of high school.
Life is
all about decisions. How many of you have ever made a bad one? If
you listen to "Only Grace" it will inspire you to start
over and feel good about it. It's one of the ballads on this album.
Other songs
on this album include "Nothing Else," "The Last Ones,"
"The Light of Eternity," "Out of Time" and "A
Few More Days."
In
2003, Matthew West's single "More" was #1 on the Christian
Adult Contemporary singles chart for a record-breaking nine weeks
in a row. It also won the Christian Song of the Year award by ASCAP.
West grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He played baseball during
his childhoold years and was given a guitar after graduating from
high school.
I've
never listened to a Christian album before but I'm lovin' every
minute of it. Matthew West did a great job and I would encourage
you to buy this new CD!!
