Lee Greenwood "Inspirational
Songs"

Lee Greenwood's
latest album is called Inspirational Songs. It was released
in 2002 and contains the hit single "God Bless the USA"
and the gospel classic "Amazing Grace."
Greenwood
grew up on a farm on Sacramento, California. He formed his first
band in Jr. High School.Later, he formed a group called Young Rascals
and achieved his first #1 hit.
God
Bless the USA has been played extensively following the events of
Sept. 11th. The song is being called the "unofficial anthem"
to the American public. It's a song that really brings us together
in times of need.
The
first song is called "Totally Devoted to You." It's about
being in love and only love that one person. It goes, "In your
hands I know I'll find salvation. When I ask for help, you're always
there."
Greenwood's
voice sounds similar to that of country legend Kenny Rogers on this
album.
Track
number six is called "You Light Up My Life." It's a ballad
about a loved one who is very special to you. Some of the lyrics:
"You Light Up My Life. You Give Me Hope to carry one. You light
up my days."
Song
number eight is called "Bound for the Promised Land."
It sounds like a country song with a little twang. It's about going
up to heaven and how great it is there.
Track
nine is called "You'll Never Walk Alone." It's about being
with God everywhere you go. I've got a poem on my wall called Footprints
and it talks about the Lord carrying you in times of trouble.
The
song that brought America back together after Sept. 11th is on this
album. "God Bless the USA" is track number 11 on this
album. It is a tune about being proud to call yourself an American
and what it took to be able to say that today. It has a special
meaning to Detroit as our city is mentioned in the song.
Special
thanks goes out to Curb Records for providing this album for us
to review and give away in a contest on AmericaJR.com.
