"Knowing"

Drama, Mystery and Thriller. Rated PG-13.

Knowing is an action/thriller/science fiction movie starring Nicholas Cage (Professor Koestler) who teaches at Massachussetts Institute of Technology. His son Caleb, played by newcomer Chandler Canterbury, goes to William Dawes Elementary School. And for the opening celebration of the new school, students are asked to draw something that might happen in the future. Then they will place it in a time capsule and open it up in 50 years.

One student, Lucinda, (Lara Robinson) is one strange little girl who instead of drawing a picture, writes a series of numbers on her paper. Fifty years go by and the capsule is opened. Caleb receives the envelope with Lucinda's prediction.

Upon researching those numbers, Professor Koestler stumbles upon a pattern of these cryptic numbers predicting the future. They represent major disasters and dates of each disaster. The professor tries to stop the next disaster before it happens.

The Professor tries to protect his son and fears that he is connected somehow from the doom and gloom of the future.

This movie is action packed and keeps you guessing til the end. Nicholas Cage does an excellent performance of what parents will do to protect their children. I would recommend this movie.
