Richard
Gere and Diane Lane in Warner Bros. Pictures' Nights
in Rodanthe - 2008 |
This is a story about
a separated woman, Adrienne Willis, (Diane Lane) who is tending
a friend's beachfront inn for the weekend to think things out.
Her life is in chaos with her ex-husband wanting her back and
her daughter who is overly rebellious.
Along comes the only visitor, Dr. Paul Flanner, (Richard Gere)
who is staying there to eventually confront the man whose wife
had died on the operating table which he was performing a routine
surgery. He faces conflict of his conscience and is there to sort
things out.
At the inn comes a storm and they both refuse to leave. They comfort
each other and become friends as they are holed up there until
the storm passes.
Then she returns home and lets her husband know of her decision.
In the meantime, Dr. Flanner writes her love letters which eventually
changes their lives forever.
Rated PG-13 for some
sensuality. Also starring Christopher Meloni, Viola Davis and
Mae Whitman. It has a running time of 1 hour and 37 minutes. Directed
by George Wolfe. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
I thought it was a good movie, however if you bring a guy, he
might fall asleep.
