"The Pursuit of Happyness"
Drama. PG-13.
This movie is about Chris
Gardner, who is a salesman selling bone density
equipment to hospitals. He realizes he has to sell two a month in
order
to pay the rent. His wife works double shifts to try to make ends
meet.
He doesn't sell any for months. Times get hard and she eventually
leaves him to go to New York.
Chris takes his son everywhere
with him and they eventually get kicked out
of their apartment and move into a low-income hotel. He sees that
they
are hiring for apprentices for a stock brokerage firm. He ends up
in jail
for the night for failing to pay several parking tickets. Then he
runs
over to the office for the interview in his t-shirt. They look at
him
funny and give him an application.
He finally get chosen
to learn about the brokerage firm. However, there
is no salary. He ends up getting kicked out of the low-income hotel
and
have to find shelter somewhere. They sleep in a subway bathroom.
The
next few days, they find a homeless shelter in a church. He continues
to
study hard. He eventually gives blood to get money for food. He
is
really down on his luck.
He finishes the class
and passes the test. The bosses call him in the
office. They gave him a job. He is so happy. He does really well.
He
later starts his own firm and is a multi-millionaire, which proves
if you
have a dream, don't let anyone tell you you can't do it.
What a good movie, it
keeps your interest and Will Smith deserves an
oscar.
