-- In his hometown of Detroit, David Shelby knew there
was a new brand of country music waiting to be born. His introduction
to music began with an accordion, then he moved on to the trumpet
and eventually graduating with a guitar. His mind was wired for
sound as a natural born musician and composer. The Motor City
soul grittiness and rock scene gave him his inspiration. Now living
in Nashville, David's songs reflect his admiration for the history
of country music.
Belt Country CD refers to the Midwest city as the rust belt
part of America where they love their beer cold and their cars
hot. His energy for his hometown also reflects how they play hard
but also has a soft spot in that big industrial part of country
music. A formidable entertainer in his own right, David Shelby's
show is filled with heart and conviction and highlights his exceptional
artistry as a music mechanic. To his credit, David has opened
for Styx, Foreigner and Hank Williams, Jr.
A Little Dirt Around" is his debut single release, which
is an orchestrated boot-scootin tune that injects soul into this
hillbilly tale. The song has a harmonica intro with dueling fiddles
of Our Lives" talks about chasing the American Dream with
life's unexpected turns, trials and tribulations.
liked the CD. My favorite songs are: "Kick A Little Dirt
Around," "What Kind of Kiss," "Moonshine"
and "Story of Our Lives." I definitely think this CD
is worth listening to. The style of his music and lyrics will
create a lasting impression on your mind. It's worth a listen.
