James Bond 007 (Daniel Craig) returns to this action-adventure film as they celebrate 50 years of the Bond series. This new Bond film explores espionage in the new computer age. It is not your typical Bond film. There is no more old and fancy gadgets, 007 only carries a gun. However, "Q" (Ben Whishaw) at MI6 headquarters now tracks his location via computer. The story begins as The British Secret Intelligence is blown up and 007 tries to find the perpetrator.

The film is shot in Istanbul, Turkey; London, England; and then to Shanghai and Macau, China and Scotland. The scenery is spectacular, as usual.

Bond starts the movie in a car chase through Istanbul trying to recover sensitive information from an enemy operative. He chases him by car, motorcycle and ends up on top of a train railcar fighting the enemy. Then he is shot by one of his own (Naomie Harris) and lands into the water filled with skulls and tombstones. Thinking Bond is dead, "M" (Judy Dench) is writing his obituary.

But Bond survives as he always does. Silva (Javier Bardem) is the cyber-terrorist guy he's after. He pursues Silva through sewers, tunnels and the Tube in London. Bond eventually goes to Scotland where he grew up and Silva eventually finds him there and action ensues, grenades fly, fires erupt and blasts occur. It's the 007 adventure we've been waiting for.

Sam Mendes is the Oscar-winning director. The movies lasts two hours and 23 minutes.

I'm not sure if its the best Bond film ever. The drama scenes were slow moving but the action/adventure was great.

OVERALL RATING: B-
