"The Last Sin Eater"

Drama. Rated
PG-13. [Not in Theatres Until 2/9/07]
This is a story about
centuries-old rituals that Welsh immigrants brought
back to America called the Sin Eater. He is this mysterious man
who can
hardly be found that is supposed to absolve you of your sins before
death.
But this young girl,
Cadi, wants her sins away while she is still living,
so she goes on a hunt for the Sin Eater.
The movie takes place
in the Appalachian Mountains. She knows he hides in
a cave in Dead Mans mountain. She searchs and searchs and finally
finds
him. Cadi brought wine and bread to feed him. She lays on the ground
with a shroud over her and he came over to her to absolve her of
her sins.
Afterward she says she felt the same. "How do I get rid of
what I did?",
she says.
She goes over to the
river and walks on the tree trunk over the river and
wants to jump. But a man catches her and asks her what would make
her do
this to herself. She reveals her dark secret and her sense of guilt.
Behind the long held
tradition, will the truth set her free?
The movie was directed
by Michael Landon Jr and stars Academy Award Winner
and Emmy Nominee Louise Fletcher and two-time Golden Globe Nominee
Henry
Thomas. It is coming to theaters on February 9, 2007.
