The Parlotones' new album, Stardust Galaxies, is definitely worth the listen

Stardust Galaxies was released by The Parlotones on June 15, 2010.

Stardust Galaxies is the freshman American debut from The Parlotones, who recently performed in Michigan for two straight nights last month: first the Leelanau Sands Theatre in Traverse City on October 8, and then the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens the next night.

Like late 1990s and early 2000s teen idols Ricky Martin, *NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys, Britney and Christina, this band became sensations in their South African homeland and most notably in Europe -- outselling fellow rock supergroups like Coldplay and Oasis.

But The Parlotones don't fall into that "heartthrob" category, for they fall in the ranks of U2 when it comes to their music, which always have a social purpose behind it -- whether it be about life in general, politics, love/relationships, or all of the above.

Standout songs of Stardust Galaxies includes "Push Me to the Floor", "Should We Fight Back", "We Call This Dancing", the title track, and "Life Design", the first single that gave the Parlotones airplay here in the U.S.

Stardust Galaxies is the U.S. breakthrough for The Parlotones, for they are one of the best groups you're not listening to.
