look inside the Wolfgang Puck Grille restaurant.
On Friday night,
I had the pleasure of dining at the Wolfgang Puck Grille located
inside the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel at 1777 Third St. in
Detroit. The grille is gorgeous with a sheik interior and
exterior decor. A decorative bar is also located in the back
of the grille with table top seating next to a cozy fireplace.
The Grille is only
four months old. It opened for the first time in October of
2007 along with the casino and hotel. There is no dress code
but I would recommend either casual or dressy.
The cuisine was
incredible. For an appetizer, I ordered ravioli stuffed with
goat cheese and spinach, the wedge Caesar salad that included
Wolfgang's specialty house dressing. Then for the main course,
I ordered the organic honey glazed chicken breast with a side
of garlic, chive mashed potatoes and baby carrots.
My guest ordered
the potato encrusted wild salmon also with a side of garlic
and chive mashed potatoes.
The menu has a
variety of items to choose from. They have Wolfgang's famous
pizzas, sandwiches, pastas, steaks, large salads and fish
selections that change every one to two weeks. Wolfgang is
famous for his buttermilk squash soup and crab cakes that
are to die for. Even though there is a variety to choose from,
it's a rather small menu with no limitations.
The price range
is a bit expensive but absolutely worth every penny. The entrees
on average are between $20 to $35, the appetizers are $10
and the salads are $8 to $10.
The quality of
the food and service was incredible. Karen, our server, especially
made our dining experience great with her energetic presentation,
kind personality, and knowledge about the food and menu. I
definitely recommend the Wolfgang Puck Grille for any occasion.
The food was excellent.
