3rd Annual Rendezvous Back to Route 66 car show to return to Downtown San Bernardino

The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce (SBACC) along with the City of San Bernardino are proud to announce the 3rd Annual Rendezvous Back to Route 66 car show being held in Downtown San Bernardino, on October 10, 2015, keeping the Spirit of the Route 66 Rendezvous alive in San Bernardino.

2015 Rendezvous Back to Route 66In 1964, Petula Clark recorded the song “Downtown” and today that song continues to symbolize the excitement found in a city’s downtown area.  The organizers of this year’s Rendezvous remember the excitement and life the past events brought to the city of San Bernardino and as a result, are bringing the iconic Rendezvous event back to the streets of Downtown San Bernardino where the event happened for 22 years. In the words of that song, “So go Downtown, things will be great when you’re; Downtown, no finer place for sure; Downtown, every thing’s waiting for you.”

Rendezvous fans will enjoy a concert by a Beach Boys tribute band at 4:30 p.m. at the Court Street Square stage. Returning this year is a crowd favorite, the Open Header Contest, that is sure to have the fans all revved up.  John Mihovetz and Accufab’s Lucas Oil record breaking 2010 Mustang Shelby Pro Street car will be in attendance again this year and judging the Open Header contest.

The Rendezvous Back to Route 66 came about after the San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Route 66 Rendezvous lost all the funding from the City after 22 years. Throughout those years, the Rendezvous brought thousands of people to the four day event. The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, in 2013, decided to keep the spirit of the Route 66 Rendezvous alive by putting together a two day classic car show held at the San Manuel Stadium. After the success of the Great Race event this past June, the City offered to help bring the Rendezvous back to the streets of Downtown on the same foot print as the Great Race. This year’s event will have a lot of similarities to the past Route 66 Rendezvous events, including a cruise route, great food, a beer garden, kids activities, lots of vendors and of course, hundreds of beautiful custom and classic cars all rolled into a one day event.

The funds from this event go toward business support services offered by the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce.

You can get more event information by calling the Chamber office at (909) 885-7515.  If you would like to be a volunteer, please call the chamber office.

Event Location

Event Map

Past Rendezvous events covered 35 blocks of downtown San Bernardino. This year’s event won’t cover as much area, but we are certain it is big enough that everyone will have a great time.

The event borders are “E” Street to the West, 4th Street to the North, Arrowhead to the East and 2nd Street to the South. The area gives us enough room for approximately 500 vehicles.

For direction to the event area.

The cruise route will wind itself around and through the event area. The current proposed route is 3rd St to Arrowhead Ave., north to 4th, West on 4th to “E” St, South on “E” St to Court St, East on Court St. to D St, South on D to 3rd St., East on D to Arrowhead Ave.

Court Street Square

Beer GardenCourt Street Square will be the activity center of this year’s event. The Court Street Stage area will be the location of the CARtoberfest (Beer Gardens) where the brew will be flowing.

As you are enjoying your cold brew, you will be entertained all day by Thumper spinning the hits of yester-year. On stage at 4:30 p.m., “Keepin’ The Summer Alive” is a Beach Boys greatest hits show presented by former musical director and 12 year member of The Beach Boys, Chris Farmer, singing your favorite hits.

Ford DisplayCourt Street Square parking lot will be filled with food and merchandise vendors. The vendors are being taken off the streets to leave room for the beautiful cars and more room to cruisin. We believe there will be something for everyone.
