Music review: Pop/R&B newcomer Lauv performs in front of a sold-out crowd at Bardot in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD — Up and coming artist Lauv, created some massive buzz last year, with his hits “The Other” and “Reforget,” without even dropping his debut EP. “The Other” managed to receive a quarter million views on Spotify remarkably fast, and is currently at 2.2 million hits, and also has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Playlists. He was on the radar of Hype Machine, and has had shoutouts from actress Chloë Grace Moritz and One Direction singer Liam Payne, praising his music and are ecstatic to hear more.

Lauv, 20 years old is from New York, and attended NYU, all while pursuing and making his own music who is a true singer, songwriter, and producer. He released his debut EP September of 2015, Lost in the Light which is available on iTunes, which has blended sounds of pop, R&B and indie. Lost in the Light has a unique and fresh sound, where everything flows naturally together, from the writing, singing and production. It is definitely one of my favorite EP’s of 2015.

Lauv made his Los Angeles debut performance January 11th, at the Bardot in Hollywood for School Night. He opened up with “Comfortable” performing in front of a full crowd, where the venue reached its max capacity. He also performed “Reforget” and closed the night with his viral hit “The Other.”

He gave a stellar performance and without a doubt will be performing more concerts in LA if you’ve missed this one. Lauv is an artist you will be hearing more of throughout the year, and the near future. Make sure to check out his website, and Facebook page for all the latest updates you won’t want to miss.
