AmericaJR.com’s Gloria Rzucidlo recently visited the construction site of the new Detroit Red Wings arena. The entire sports and entertainment complex is being called “The District.” The official name of the arena has not yet been released — however, there is speculation it will be called “Little Caesars Arena” or “The Baddest Bowl.” We’re told the new arena will feature 5 restaurants, 7 clubs and more concession stands than Joe Louis Arena. Construction began on April 24, 2015 following a formal groundbreaking ceremony on September 25, 2014. The arena, which will feature a unique, glass-roofed concourse connecting it to offices and shops surrounding it, and house 20,000 spectators. The new home for the Detroit Red Wings is scheduled to be completed by September 2017.
