Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ final trailer released

This fall, criminals will underestimate the power of the man known as Marvel’s “Luke Cage”.  On Monday, the latest trailer continues to demonstrate the superhuman strength and bulletproof skin of Mike Colter’s titular superhero of Harlem against injustice.

Introduced on Marvel’s “Jessica Jones”, Luke Cage was a bartender who once thought that being a hero puts a target on your back.  But when he returns home to his Harlem neighborhood in hopes of living life in the shadows, he will realize that it was always his destiny, his legacy to be a hero.  A hero who is unafraid: that is what will give the people of Harlem hope in the war against gangsters such as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali) and corrupt politicians like Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard).  Not interested in being the king or the pawn, Luke Cage will literally become the knight in shining bulletproof armor: the defender for what’s right in Harlem.

Marvel’s “Luke Cage” will have Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Claire Temple, the nurse responsible for treating the wounds of Marvel’s “Daredevil” (Charlie Cox) and “Jessica Jones” (Krysten Ritter).  Co-starring Simone Missick as NYPD detective Misty Knight, Marvel’s “Luke Cage” premieres this Friday on Netflix.
