PHOTOS: Testing underway for Detroit’s new QLine streetcar

Detroit’s new QLine (M-1 Rail) streetcar is undergoing testing before its big launch on May 12, 2017. Watch as the new light rail streetcar makes its way up and down Woodward Avenue in downtown and midtown Detroit. The line will make a 6.6-mile loop around Woodward Avenue. There are 20 stops between Grand Boulevard and Larned Street. Each ride will cost $1.50 when it opens for business on May 12. Streetcars will feature modern amenities air-conditioning, heat and come equipped with bike racks and Wi-Fi. Former WDIV-TV 4 Anchor Carmen Harlan will service as the “Voice” of the QLine announcing the stops inside each streetcar.
