PREVIEW: Ford Arts, Beats & Eats celebrating 20th anniversary

ROYAL OAK, Mich. — The 20th Annual Arts, Beats & Eats is almost upon us, and is bigger and better than ever. A slew of artists like Inty Muenala of Ecuador will have art on display.

Great old school bands like Grand Funk Railroad and Dwight Yoakam will be playing, and some great local bands, too, like Josie Pace, The Electric Numbers, and Sold Only As Curio will dazzle you and blow your minds.

A press conference was held on Tuesday afternoon to announce the details of this year’s festival. The HopCat had some samples of the eats in store for attendees, and they were scrumptious.

Jon Witz ran off a whole list of great acts. He’s been doing a yeoman’s job of running the event for years.

Robin Konarski of Lifetime Fitness also spoke. Boy, oh, boy, she’s as fit as a fiddle, and will be around to show you how to kick someone in the head like Jean-Claude Van Damme in Time Cop!

Labor Day Weekend is gonna be fun this year! Get to Royal Oak, and they will do the rest!
