Cabela’s To Open Chesterfield Township, Mich. Store Tomorrow

SIDNEY, Neb.  – Today, Cabela’s announced plans to celebrate the official grand opening of its new Chesterfield Township, Mich., store on Thursday, Aug. 3. A celebration featuring giveaways, family activities, guest appearances, and more fun-filled events will follow throughout the weekend.

The activities will begin Thursday morning with giveaways and live music from country-music artist and Cabela’s Ambassador Lucas Hoge. A ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by Cabela’s executives, will begin at 9:45 a.m. and conclude in true Cabela’s fashion with the grand-opening ribbon being cut by an arrow shot from a bow by an employee of the store.

The excitement will continue throughout the weekend with interactive family activities, special appearances by Cabela’s pro staffers and ambassadors, product demonstrations, giveaways, vendor exhibits, and more. A complete schedule of events will be available on www.cabelas.com/chesterfield.

The 90,000-square-foot store is located at 45959 Towne Center Blvd., near the intersection of Hall Road and Interstate 94, in Macomb County, 30 miles northeast of Detroit near the banks Lake St. Clair.

It is designed to offer customers an immersive outdoor experience, complete with Cabela’s signature Conservation Mountain and wildlife-display feature, dozens of museum-quality taxidermy mounts, vintage outdoor photos and memorabilia, and a regionally specific theme and design features.

Additionally, the store will include an archery and firearm tech room, indoor archery range and Bargain Cave, along with a product assortment specifically tailored for the region with locally relevant equipment.

Cabela’s has employed approximately 175 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees to staff the location, most coming from Macomb County and the surrounding area. Throughout the year, the staff will utilize their outdoor passion and knowledge of the region to host educational seminars to offer customers tips and insights on outdoor products and activities.

Upon opening, the Chesterfield Township location will become Cabela’s fourth store in Michigan, joining the Dundee, Saginaw and Grandville locations.
