GALLERY: The Boa Constrictors, George Bedard & The Kingpins @ Ann Arbor Summer Festival

George Bedard & The Kingpins

AmericaJR’s Jason Rzucidlo reports from the University of Michigan campus for the 35th annual Ann Arbor Summer Festival. In this gallery, you’ll see photos from Sunday, July 2, 2018. From another place and time come The Boa Constrictors, old school blues musicians who know how to build a tight set. A favorite at blues festivals in Michigan and Canada, they call their Detroit blues “very greasy, grimy, and lowdown.” In what has become an annual tradition, George Bedard & the Kingpins will close Top of the Park and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival season with their crowd-pleasing, swinging rockabilly and blues. George Bedard has been a key figure on the Michigan roots-rock scene for decades and is a guitar hero’s guitar hero.
