Superhero Sunday: The CW signals “Batwoman” to join “Supergirl” this fall

"Supergirl" and "Batwoman" will air Sundays this fall on the CW

Prepare for “World’s Finest” every Sunday, with Ruby Rose suiting up and leading the night for justice as Batwoman, with Melissa Benoist taking flight for her fifth season as National City’s Girl of Steel Supergirl an hour later at 9pm.

Introduced in last season’s Arrowverse crossover “Elseworlds” event, Kate Kane is the cousin of Bruce Wayne, who spend his nights jumping on rooftops and instilling fear into the heart of the criminal underworld as the Caped Crusader/Dark Knight Detective Batman, the guardian of Gotham City.  Three years later, the city is in chaos, and the people are without their champion.  Enter Kate Kane, who’s about to step out her cousin’s shadow and become a legend in her own right.  With a passion for social justice, she must rise above her demons in order to be the new hero Gotham needs and deserves: the protector known as Batwoman.

The series also stars Dougray Scott as Kate’s father, who believes that his private security firm the Crows will ensure more safety and security for the people of Gotham yet his dislike for vigilantism will put him at odds with his daughter’s masked alter-ego.  Former Birds of Preystar Rachel Skarsten – aka meta-human Dinah Lance/Black Canary –  plays Alice, the dangerous leader of the Wonderland gang.

With Batwoman and Supergirl patrolling the streets of their respective cities on Sundays, Charmed will bring their sophomore magic onto the CW Fridays this fall.
