AmericaJR’s Gloria and Jerome Rzucidlo recently visited the all-new Detroit River Beach. Formerly known as Atwater Beach, this area is now being called Robert C. Valade Park. It features a sandy beach, floating bar, climbing playscapes, and restaurant offerings. The city hopes it will be a “diverse gathering spot for Detroiters of all ages.” Located at 2670 Atwater St., Valade Park sits at the foot of Joseph Campau. The park officially opens to the public on October 26, 2019.
Smokey G’s Smokehouse and Geisha Girls Sushi will offer year-round menus The park will open with HarvestFest, the Conservancy’s annual outdoor festival. An imaginative play scape, which will be inspired by a West Coast lifeguard station with areas for children to climb, slide and jump. The space is great for Zumba, tango, yoga, tai chi, and much more! Ample seating areas around the play scape and music gardens which will provide areas for parents and caregivers to keep an eye on the children.

You can not imagine just how much time I had spent for this info!
