Stargirl is the CW’s newest shining light and it’s getting brighter, as the freshman female superhero has been picked up for a second season by the network.
The series stars Brec Bassigner as Courtney Whitmore, a teenager who moves from Los Angeles to Nebraska after her mother Barbara’s (Amy Smart) remarriage. It is where she slowly bonds with her stepfather Pat (Luke Wilson) when Courtney discovers that Pat “S.T.R.I.P.E.”
Dugan is not only one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America (JSA), but he was also the sidekick to Starman (Joel McHale), who may or may not be Courtney’s father. Courtney has already recruited the next generation of JSA: Yolonda “Wildcat” Montez (Yvette Monreal), Beth Chapel/Doctor Mid-nite (Anjelika Washington), and Rick “Hourman” Harris (Cameron Gellman). Under Pat’s mentorship, they are on a mission to take down the Injustice Society led by Icicle (Neil Jackson).
