Detroit — Direct from Las Vegas, Carrot Top, an American actor and stand-up comedian, performed at the Sound Board inside the Motor City Casino.  His routine includes dozens of props stored in large trunks on stage which goes with him on the road from city to city.

He was happy to be in Detroit and did jokes about our city.  One was, he said Detroit had it all, Red Wings hockey, Pistons basketball and the Detroit Lions.  Boo’s were heard from the crowd.  The digital screen in the background showed 10-0-1, oh no that’s not right.  It’s 0-10-1.  He showed clips of him posing in various places around downtown.

Carrot Top as an actor has appeared on such shows as Scrubs, George Lopez, Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Spectacular, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Regis and Kathie Lee, just to name a few.  He was a question on Jeopardy.  The red-headed prop comedian who has a long-term gig at the Luxor in Las Vegas?  One lady answered Who is Carrot Top? which is correct.

Steve Harvey of Family Feud asked the question to one family:  Which comedian do you wish would go away?  The lady responded “Carrot Top.”  That got a laugh from Steve.

I like the joke about the Bud Light, he brought out a prop of a beer bottle and as he took a sip, on the bottom of the bottle was a light (looking like a flashlight).  Another one was you know you are in Michigan when you see one of these.  He pulled out an orange cone. (referring to our bad roads)

At the end of his one hour and 45-minute segment, he wore costumes of famous singers, such as Elton John with his colorful sequined outfit and over-sized glasses and danced to the tune of “I’m Still Standing.”  Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Gene Simmons were others he impersonated.

Carrot Top mentioned that he lives in Florida when he is not in Las Vegas and will be back in Vegas on December 7.  He headlines at the Luxor Resort & Casino and celebrated his 16th year there.
