Restaurant Review: BrewDog Las Vegas offers amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip

You can't miss this giant BrewDog atop Showcase Mall on the Las Vegas Strip. (Jason Rzucidlo/AmericaJR)

Las Vegas — BrewDog Las Vegas is the new kid on the block. It is the first brewery–that makes its own beer–to land on the Las Vegas Strip. BrewDog cost $17 million to build and opened on Friday, Dec. 2.

BrewDog is actually a combination bar and restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is located above the Showcase Mall which houses a Target and Burlington directly across from Park MGM. Just take the elevator up to the fourth floor and you’re there.

This is a whole new experience unlike anything else on the Las Vegas Strip. BrewDog features traditional bar games and board games as well. There is outdoor seating with comfortable chairs and mesmerizing views of the world famous casino resorts. In addition, you’ll find a handful of TVs to watch live sports near the bar areas.

BrewDog features 96 beers on tap daily. That includes pale ales and IPAs, stouts and dark beers, alcohol free beers, lager and pilsners, ciders, sours and fruit-based. In addition, they serve a staff selection called Elvis Juice and local beers. Guests can try a free sample before choosing a beer, too.

The menu includes everything from appetizers to tacos, burgers, small plates, large plates, pizzas, salads and main entrees. Some of the entrees include a 1-lb. rib eye, oak-fired chicken, lobster mac and cheese, lobster frites and flame-grilled eggplant.

I ordered two tacos— one chicken and one pork (carnitas). The chicken taco comes with chipotle crema glazed fried chicken, cajun aioli, lettuce and pico de gallo. The pork taco comes with carnitas pork, avocado-tomatillo salsa, pickled onions, Cotija cheese and cilantro.

I greatly enjoyed the carnitas taco–however, I must say the chicken taco was very spicy. Each taco was $8 each so it was a little pricey for what I’d describe as street tacos.

As you can imagine the bar/restaurant is very busy since it just opened. It doesn’t take long to get seated but be prepared to wait about 20-30 minutes for your food to be cooked and delivered to your table. I definitely recommend a visit during your trip.
