Jason Rzucidlo was at the Fox Theatre when Dave Bing was sworn in
as Detroit's Mayor. The Detroit City Council and Detroit City Clerk
were also sworn in at the special ceremony, which was open to the
public. Also, look for comments by Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm,
who also appeared at the ceremony. There was entertainment provided
by the Renaissance High School marching band, Detroit School of
Arts ensemble and Detroit native Kimmie Horn.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing addresses the crowd after taking the oath
of office
He
was already the mayor of the city of Detroit. But now it is
official for a full, four-year term. Dave Bing accepted the
oath of office inside the historic Fox Theatre in front of
a packed house. Bing's entire family was on hand to watch
the ceremony. The new Detroit City Council, led by former
Fox 2 News anchor/reporter Charles Pugh and city clerk Janice
Winfrey were also sworn-in during the special ceremony. Detroit's
