He said that the cost of the battery for the Volt should drop by
half in the next three to five years. In addition, the 2012 Volt

Interview with Antonov Managing Director Simon Roberts

Jason Rzucidlo spoke with Antonov Automotive Technologies Managing
Director Simon Roberts. The UK-based company has developed a three-speed
gearbox for use in electric vehicles. Antonov is looking to partner
with an automobile manufacturer in the U.S. to bring this technology
to the market. Their gearbox will lessen the amount of battery cells
required to operate an electric vehicle to help bring the cost down
and extend the driving range as well.
