Experience
the 'Amazing Music Studio' in Detroit

The 'Amazing Music Studio'
is the latest exhibit to play at the New Detroit Science Center.
It will be running from June 11, 2005 until October 2, 2005; basically
all summer long!
Music is such a big part
of life these days. It's a combination of art and science. There
are so many people working behind the scenes of the music that you
listen you. There are producers, performers and listerners.
At the Amazing Music
Studio, you will be able to explore music from several different
perspectives. You will see the physics, technology, history, artists
and listen.
There is so much new
technology being used in today's music. There will be over 30 hands-on
activities. You will be able to act as a DJ on the mixing desk.
You will be able to sing in the Karaoke shower. How many of you
do that??
You will also have the
chance to play an invisible harp and dance on top of a giant piano.
How many artists do that in real life? I can think of one, Phil
Vassar!!
There will be a recording
studio where you can mix your own four-track tape. You will get
a look at the Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles made many of
their hit songs.
A listening area will
describe how your ears work and if you can hear through other parts
of your body. What do you think...is it possible?
A professional stage
designer will show you how he puts on a rock show. You can see the
work of Mark Fisher, who designed the shows of U2 and The Rolling
Stones.
The Amazing Music Studio
runs from June 11, 2005 until October 2, 2005. Admission for this
exhibit is $3 for adults, $2 for children age 2 and up and for seniors.
You must pay for admission to the Science Center first.
There will also be a
concert series supporting this exhibit. As soon as the announcement
is made, you will find it on Detroit's
#1 Concert Listing. AmericaJR.com will have free tickets to
the Detroit Science Center and this special once-in-a-lifetime exhibit
very soon. Stay tuned to our Contests
page.
