Artie Lange Chuckles It Up At The Fox

If you have ever heard Howard Stern since Artie replaced Jackie the Jokeman, you know he is a funny guy who loves the Yankees. Amazingly, he survived his gig at The Fox, even after praising the Philadelphia Eagles crowds as being the rowdiest in the NFL. I must say the tale he told of a drunken Eaglet telling a judge holding court right there at Veteran's Stadium, or The Vet, as he called it, was pretty funny. The fan was asked if he had anything to say for himself and he said, "John Elway is a [insert expletive here]."

In fact, there were a lot of expletive bombs dropped this past Saturday. I would say for the $60.00 ticket I had, I was paying about 75 cents per use.

You name the word, it was said. Artie once led the crowd in a chant of, "[Insert expletive] the F. C. C.!" The crowd was just as boisterous as Artie to our credit. Yes, Metro Detroiters are a hearty bunch and had not Artie said that Ernie Harwell was a great broadcaster before doing his drunken Harry Carey impersonation, I think many of our well-saused southern Michiganders might have turned on him. Y'all don't wanna diss the Tigers, no, Sir, ree Bob!

The Reverend Bob Levy and Sal the Stock Broker were crude but funny and since they never mentioned the Chicago Cubs or the Philadelphia Eagles, they were granted safe passage out of the Fox. Artie's limo, however, was rocked by some overly rambunctious fans, rendering Artie's limo driver a petrified mess.

It was a good crowd of 3,000 or so and quite a different crowd than the one that saw Bjork last Tuesday. No one had orange hair, there were more drunken stentorian performances, and I did not see anyone passed out, inexplicably.

Going to the Fox twice in the same week for such diametrically-opposed performances is sort of hurting my brain, but I loved both Bjork and Lange! I hope they come to Detroit again soon, but please, not in the same week!
