The
Art Institute of Michigan – Troy celebrates opening of new
campus with reception, collaborative art, and charity donations

TROY, Mich. –
On Wednesday, the Art Institute of Michigan – Troy
campus director Turner Berg was joined by State Representative Marty
Knollenberg, Deputy Oakland County Executive Phil Bertolini, Troy
Mayor Louise Schilling, and community leaders at the formal opening
of the new campus. Campus faculty, city officials and business leaders
from across metropolitan Detroit took tours of the campus and attended
a collaborative paint splash to commemorate the grand opening.
“We are very proud to open our doors here in Oakland County
and the city of Troy,” said Berg. “We look forward to
working with the many fine businesses and organizations to help
meet their employment needs in this part of metro Detroit.”
Also in attendance were representatives from local nonprofit Operation:
Kid Equip to receive a donation of more than 300 boxes of new crayons
and a check for $500 to help provide the basic school needs for
children of low-income families.
“We are truly humbled by the continued support from the community
and valued partners like The Art Institute of Michigan – Troy,”
said Menachem Kniespeck, president and CEO of Operation: Kid Equip.
“Unfortunately, many local families are faced with limited
resources when it comes to providing the tools for students to succeed
and at Operation: Kid Equip we are proud to do our part.”
The Art Institute of Michigan – Troy offers bachelor of fine
arts degree programs in Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Interior
Design, Media Arts & Animation, and Web Design & Interactive
Media; bachelor of arts degree program in Fashion Marketing &
Management; associate of applied science degree programs in Fashion
Merchandising and Graphic Design; and diploma programs in Digital
Image Management, Fashion Retailing, Web Design & Development,
and Web Design & Interactive Communications.
