TROY, Mich. – On Wednesday, the Art Institute of Michigan – Troy campus director Turner Berg was joined by State Representative Marty Knollenberg, Deputy Oakland County Executive Phil Bertolini, Troy Mayor Louise Schilling, and community leaders at the formal opening of the new campus. Campus faculty, city officials and business leaders from across metropolitan Detroit took tours of the campus and attended a collaborative paint splash to commemorate the grand opening.

“We are very proud to open our doors here in Oakland County and the city of Troy,” said Berg. “We look forward to working with the many fine businesses and organizations to help meet their employment needs in this part of metro Detroit.”

Also in attendance were representatives from local nonprofit Operation: Kid Equip to receive a donation of more than 300 boxes of new crayons and a check for $500 to help provide the basic school needs for children of low-income families.

“We are truly humbled by the continued support from the community and valued partners like The Art Institute of Michigan – Troy,” said Menachem Kniespeck, president and CEO of Operation: Kid Equip. “Unfortunately, many local families are faced with limited resources when it comes to providing the tools for students to succeed and at Operation: Kid Equip we are proud to do our part.”
