Boca Knights by Steven M. Foreman is a novel about a man who finds himself a hero when his anger issues help him bring a year-long murder mystery to a close. Eddie Perlmutter is a retired cop that is talked into moving to Florida by his friends. He is the grandson of Sirota, who killed a bare in the Ukrainian wilderness, saving small village. Sirota moved to the United States and started a new life under the name of Hans Perlmutter. Eddie moved to Boca Raton up on the insistence of his friends who thought the warmer climate would be a huge relief to his arthritis. Although Perlmutter had retired from the police force upon his arrival in Boca Raton he quickly found another job at the Two Course of Boca Raton. Perlmutter resumes his previous activities of law and order during a golf tournament that leads him to a P.A.L. boxing ring. Back in New York he was a boxer as a kid. His parents felt it was a good way to channel the anger and aggression that he possessed. When Perlmutter became a police officer, he got involved with the local P.A.L. and taught neighborhood boys the sport. After the altercation at the golf course, Perlmutter finds himself at the boxing ring and winds up in the midst of a Russian crime organization that was printing fake money and making ecstasy. He sustained injuries as he fought with the three of the Russians. He also finds himself in the midst of a Russian crime organization that was printing fake money and making ecstasy. Perlmutter gets injured when he walks into their operation and winds up in the hospital. At the hospital, he meets the family of a man who is dying and suspected of murder. Boca Knights is a well-written novel that explores how some people never quit helping others. Forman draws the reader into the novel with his colorful language and descriptive words transporting them in to the novel. It tells the tale without extravagance but simply tells the story of the grandson of Sirota.
