Mich. -- Michigan Design Center (MDC) presents Catwalk:
Couture for a Cause, from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, October 16.
In its second year, the celebration of style and design talent
will be held in the MDC's Mid-America Room located at 1700
Stutz Drive in Troy. All proceeds from the event will benefit
Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI), Partners.
Catwalk guests will enjoy a pre-runway silent auction during
a welcome reception and cocktail party beginning at 6:00 p.m.
An exclusive runway fashion show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and
will be followed with auction featuring one-of-a-kind couture
garments.
Fashions have been created with fabrics from MDC showrooms
and designed by some of the area's most respected interior
designers. More than 20 women's and children's outfits, featuring
the finest fabrics in the industry will be auctioned off after
the fashion show.
"Michigan Design Center is proud to once again bring
together some of the region's very best interior design talents
for such a truly important cause," said Susan Zinger,
Michigan Design Center vice president and general manager.
"Patrons will have the opportunity to bid on sophisticated,
elegant and playful designs, all created using the most exquisite
fabrics available. The results are sure to surprise and delight."

KCI, Partners is a group of "hands-on" volunteers
who have pooled their ideas and resources for the sole purpose
of raising funds for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
In the past 14 years, the Partners have raised nearly $7 million
for the Karmanos Cancer Institute from their two annual fundraising
events: the Partners Night and its sister event, the Partners
Golf Classic. Their events
have become exciting and popular Metro-Detroit traditions,
and the attendance has grown exponentially with each passing
year - with 900 attending the 14th Annual Partners Night.
Space is limited. Tickets are $150 each for Fashionista Level
with priority seating during fashion show and auction and
a special gift, or $75 each for Enthusiast Level, with open
seating during the fashion show and auction. Festive cocktail
attire is suggested.
