LIVONIA, Mich. -- Throughout the daytime hours of October 24, Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) CEO Nick Pascoe and Rob Palmer of Palmer PR provided guests to the Embassy Suites’ Boardroom 1 with a hands-on preview of electromagnetic vehicle parts that CPT seeks to market beyond the home confines of the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe.

It’s an effort that, according to Pascoe, goes back to 2000 when “Ford [Motor Company] spun out Visteon [Corporation],” with a focus on CO2 emissions and alternatives through five divisions including Powertrain.

With Powertrain and Visteon’s exit from such research in 2006, it would take at least a year for Pascoe to revitalize a research organization for such technology.

In December of 2007, CPT was assembled the likes of Pascoe with “35 employees from the original development teams.” In terms of future success for the company, Pascoe noted that CPT has plenty of one factor: “Timing,” which “Visteon ran out of available windows for funding.”

Working in connection with Emerson, a fellow industrial company, CPT’s anticipated innovations were considered by Pascoe as “a bucket of energy, and we’ve got to keep that bucket full.”

It was a process call Modular Hybridization, which the supportive presentation defined as “CO2 emissions normalized for a new European cycle.”

For such technology like the TIGERS and the VTES devices, advantages would include 24-48 volt (V) powerage alongside 5-8 kilowatts (kW) that ensures an ongoing mobility, as marketed by Pascoe.

As the advantages of CPT were driven home, Pascoe optimized his company’s efforts were a pace above the rest. “We know the field is diverse, and the technologies are immature. They don’t know how to operate electromagnetic devices of this nature.”

Palmer and Pascoe added that new frontiers would help further CPT’s insight into variations of demand. “Changing technology and market experience create opportunities for new, more agile suppliers to emerge. That’s what we’re here to explore: if these products are compatible with what Americans are looking for.”

With an important span from 2012-2015, how these devices fare depends on the outcome of such interaction that is yet to reach U.S. shores.
