63rd Annual Meguiar's Autorama at Cobo Center in Detroit began
on Friday, March 6 and continues through Sunday, March 8. It is
considered "America's Greatest Hot Rod Show." From hot
rods, custom cars, dragsters, hydroplane race boats and much much
more, you will find it here.
favorite car was the bright orange 1941 Willys Coupe. It had a
heritage hot rod body with shaved suicide doors, with custom ultra
leather interior. Also included was vintage air conditioning,
power steering, power windows and power brakes. The turbo 400
TCI transmission gave it raw power. There was also a blue 1941
Willys Coupe street machine that was dedicated to four friends
who graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1961 and have
remained friends for over 60 years. Wow that is amazing. From
the Pac-man rod to the groovy 1962 Econoline Van, this show is
something you shouldn't miss.

This included the 1970 Dodge Charger, the 1995
Mitsubishi Eclipse, the 1970 Chevelle SS, the 1995 Jetta-Bullet
car and the 2008 Dodge Challenger.
saw the WWE Superstar Big Show signing autographs. The line was
long and guests got to take pictures with him.
John Force also had his funny car there. There were several top
alcohol dragsters there along with Todd Robertson's NHRA top alcohol
Autorama Extreme in the lower level of Cobo Center features traditional
rods, customs and bobber motorcycles. Gene Winfield's Chop Shop
is a one-of-a-kind display where he chop tops, bend metal in live
demonstrations. There is also an extreme sock hop contest in the
basement while the Double Scale band played on. One thing I found
interesting was the 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline with a Tiki bar in
the trunk. I also liked the Chopper at Large, talk about huge.
It is definitely a must see. There were custom motorcycles and
mini-bikes, camper trailers, custom old cars that were built not
are $19 for general admission, children 6-12 are $6 and children
