Detroit Boat Show cruises into Cobo Center, February 12 - 20, 2011
LIVONIA, Mich. -- The 53rd Annual Detroit Boat Show is scheduled for February 12-20, 2011 at Cobo Center in Detroit, MI. The nine-day show is the primary boat and accessory show in the state of Michigan and attracts thousands of attendees from Michigan, Canada and surrounding states.
The show offers hundreds of boats from 10 to (an expected) 45 feet in length for fishing, cruising, skiing, tubing and other boating lifestyle activities. “This show brings in the areas top dealers and features hundreds of the latest boats, plus a wide range of accessories, supplies and services,” said Detroit Boat Show Manager Van Snider. “Great prices, special promotions, seminars and specialty exhibits assure the show offers something for everyone.”
The show is expecting strong attendance and more positive buying attitudes from consumers who are experiencing pent-up demand. “Boating will always be a strong recreational element in Michigan,” continued Snider. “Boating activity was up this summer and sales are expected to increase as more positive economic news is released.”
A recent study by Foresight Research in Rochester, MI, has announced findings from a first-of-its-kind study that measures which marketing channels have the most influence on consumers’ decision to purchase a new boat. Of note, consumers highly influenced by boat shows ranked the ability to compare boats/models/prices and the ability to board boats as the most influential elements. “People want to see and touch a boat before purchasing and there is no other opportunity to see as many boats in one place here in Michigan – it’s a real time saver,” continued Snider.
The Detroit Boat Show is produced by the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA), a state-wide marine trade association representing boaters and the boating industry in Michigan.
