First-Ever "Metro PCS: Dine
in the D" Program Offers Discounts at Detroit's Hottest Restaurants
during Winter Blast
More
Than 60 Restaurants in Midtown, Downtown, Greektown and Mexicantown
Offer
15 to 30 Percent Discount; Diners Have Chance to Win Dinner in Detroit
for One Year

DETROIT
-- From Detroit’s finest restaurants to favorite neighborhood
hangouts, “Metro PCS: Dine in the D” kicking off Winter
Blast weekend is the first of its kind for Detroit and includes
participation of more than 60 of Detroit’s hottest restaurants
from Midtown, Downtown, Greektown and Mexicantown where diners will
receive 15 to 30 percent off their entire meal February 8-11, 2007.
The program is free and diners simply download an Internet coupon
at www.winterblast.com
for participating restaurants and make an advance reservation.
"Detroit
has a vibrant restaurant scene and we are excited to kickoff the
first-ever Metro PCS: Dine in the D program with Detroit's Winter
Blast," stated Jim Pappas, Chairman of Metro PCS: Dine in the
D and representative of the Greektown Merchants Association.
Detroit’s
Winter Blast producer Jon Witz created the “Metro PCS: Dine
in the D” program and received overwhelming support from the
Detroit restaurant community. Winter Blast volunteers will be stationed
in each participating restaurant to greet diners, similar to the
approach during Super Bowl XL, and participants of the program will
also have the opportunity to win dinner in Detroit for one year.
"As
a restaurateur and a long-time Detroit supporter, I am excited to
see the energy of Super Bowl XL continue this year with Detroit's
Winter Blast and the Metro PCS: Dine in the D program," stated
Robert Porcher, III, Southern Hospitality Restaurant Group. "Metro
PCS: Dine in the D offers an incredible opportunity to experience
our city's finest cuisine at a discounted price."
While the
focus of the “Metro PCS: Dine in the D” offer is value
in 2007, the program plans to add other features in the future including
cooking demonstrations, celebrity chefs, special prix fixe presentations
and other events to develop the program into a special event that,
along with Detroit’s Winter Blast, will become a special tourist
attraction for guests outside Metro Detroit.
