Mitt
Romney delivers remarks following Arizona and Michigan primaries
"Thank
you, Michigan. And thank you, Arizona! A week ago the pundits
and the pollsters were ready to count us out. But across Michigan
and Arizona I kept meeting moms and dads, students and grandparents,
all concerned about what was happening to this great country.
I was confident that we would come together today and take
a giant step toward a brighter future. Tonight, their efforts
have brought our cause a great victory. Tonight is all the
more special because we’re celebrating in the state
where I was born, surrounded by Michiganders we consider family."

Rick
Santorum and Ann Romney defend their campaigns in Novi, Mich.
By Pete Bublitz
Thursday
evening at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi was supposed
to be a commemorative Lincoln Day dinner for close to 1500
attendees and supporters of the Republican Party. What became
the focus of the night, however, was an address exchange between
two major players of the GOP race this 2012 election year.
Yes, comments from Gov. Rick Snyder, Oakland County’s
L. Brooks Patterson, and Reverend C.L. Bryant (who was arguably
the loudest of the night) stirred up optimism for a President
representing the host party. [2.19.12] |

Rick
Snyder elected Michigan's next governor; Republicans sweep
A.G., S.O.S. offices By
Jason Rzucidlo
Rick
Snyder has never been a politician. However, he will become
one on Jan. 1, 2011. Michigan voters selected the Republican
businessman to be their next governor. He won by a margin
of 19 percent, almost exactly as the polls predicted. The
Ann Arbor native ran with a campaign to reinvent Michigan
and the nickname of "One Tough Nerd." Ruth Johnson
was elected to become the state's next Secretary of State
and Bill Schuette was elected Michigan's new Attorney General.

-- Gary Peters, Rocky Raczkowski, Douglas Campbell and Dr.
